Chumbera Segunda is the encounter between the excellence of Italian cabinet-making and the sensitivity of contemporary design. It was born in 1988 from the success of Chumbera Primera, created for Ceccotti Collezioni. To design it, Roberto Lazzeroni drew inspiration from Gaudì’s organic architecture, Mollino’s expressive design, Dalì’s Surrealism and, lastly, from the construction know-how that is behind the creation of Gio Ponti’s Superleggera chair.
An elegant turned wood backrest is the connection between the rear legs and the four lateral rails, which are joined together using the mortise and tenon joint technique. The result is a fluid and organic ensemble, characterized by a sophisticated joint design, combined with skillfully handcrafted soft lines. Made from solid American walnut wood, this chair has a padded plywood seat that offers great comfort. It can be upholstered in leather, natural leather or fabric, for the utmost customization.
