Claudio Silvestrin

Claudio Silvestrin, born in 1954, is an influential designer renowned for his meticulous and understated approach to design. Educated at A.G. Fronzoni School in Milan and later at the Architectural Association in London, where he continues to work, Silvestrin has made a significant impact in various design domains. His portfolio encompasses everyday objects, domestic and commercial interiors, art galleries, and residential projects.

Silvestrin’s notable clients include Giorgio Armani, Illycaffe, Anish Kapoor, Calvin Klein, Cappellini, Poltrona Frau, and the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, for which he designed the museum in Turin. His design philosophy is characterized by a severe yet not extreme minimalism that seeks to create a sense of calm and order. This approach is detailed in a book about his work by Franco Bertoni, published by Birkhauser.

Silvestrin’s designs are a study in balance – noble yet unpretentious, intellectual yet silent, and always attentive to perfect details. His work reflects a commitment to integrity, clarity, and inventiveness, resulting in rigorous minimalism that is contemporary yet timeless, calming without being ascetic, and elegant without being ostentatious.
