This armchair was designed by Roberto Lazzeroni in 1989. Its name, "Hypnos", suggests dreaming. It also hints at how, with its sinuous, anthropomorphic lines, the armchair takes elements from the history of design, in particular the design language of the 1950s. Influenced by a vast swathe of design knowledge that came to him from various parts of the world, Lazzeroni set out on a creative journey. The aim shared by this company is demonstrate an advanced form of craftsmanship made up of objects and anthropomorphic forms that would change over the years, embracing technological innovations as they become ever more sophisticated. The story of Hypnos is an original one. A sketch born from the vision of the designer. The master craftsman then realised the product with consummate skill, without any technical drawings, but always working in close collaboration with the designer. The armchair is made of solid American walnut and has a padded plywood seat upholstered in fabric, leather or natural leather. Hypnos is also the precursor of another cult piece that forms part of the history of Ceccotti Collezioni
