Nooch is a modular seating system designed by Piero Lissoni for B&B Italia. Its name is inspired by the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Thailand. The key feature of Nooch is its tubular structure made from recycled aluminum, a lightweight and durable material that is fully recyclable.
The system consists of two basic modules: rectangular and square. Both can be equipped with backrests and armrests and feature an aluminum base with slats that hold the cushions. The modules can be arranged as standalone pieces or connected using special locking mechanisms, allowing for diverse configurations.
The cushions are designed with sustainability in mind, using regenerated materials that are fully separable. They consist of two layers of polyurethane foam with different densities and firmness levels. One layer is made from recycled polyurethane derived from production waste, while the other uses primary bio-polyurethane, both wrapped in an outer shell made from recycled PET.
The system includes a small circular service element placed between cushions for added support, as well as a special backrest/armrest cushion that can be inserted between elements to create reverse and double-sided seating configurations.
Nooch offers endless layout possibilities, adapting to various spaces and needs while combining functionality with elegant design.
