The architecture of the modern table is at the centre of the philosophy behind Whity, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni in 1997. According to the designer, the table is a symbol of coming together and sharing and should be able to blend harmoniously into a wide range of home environments. This idea was the starting point for a sophisticated, elegant piece of furniture in solid American walnut. The tabletop can be either square or rectangular and is available in 8 mm visarm glass – transparent, bronze or smoked – or in veneered plywood with horizontal wood grain. The rectangular versions of the table are also available with a marble top. Its form and gently curved lines recall the historical Liberty-style home furnishings of the 1920s. In creating this piece, as his starting point, Lazzeroni took the idea of an essential design that could turn Whity into a table with a strong personality, despite its simplicity.. The legs and corners are the table's most distinctive feature and remain unchanged in all versions, although the size and shape of the top vary depending on the length of the frame.
