Minotti first connected with Japanese designer Oki Sato, born in 1977, in 2017. Oki Sato, who is multi-talented, poetic, and original, founded the architecture and design firm Nendo in 2002, where he serves as Chief Designer. Known internationally for his diverse approach, spanning graphic design, product design, architecture, and installations, Oki Sato officially joined Minotti’s design team in 2018.
With his light, fresh, and minimal style, he creates designs that possess both a strong personality and a poetic touch. He draws inspiration primarily from the craftsmanship of master artisans and the interaction between people, objects, and their environment.
The creative synergy between Minotti and Oki Sato was showcased in 2018 with the introduction of the Tape collection—a series of seating and tables characterized by a light silhouette and a strong identity—as well as the Ring and Waves coffee tables. For the 2024 Collection, he designed the Amii seating system, which features rope panels interwoven to form the back and armrests, supporting cushions of various shapes for ultimate outdoor relaxation.
